Wilmington University Chapter of Pi Gamma Mu Honored with “Roll of Distinction” Award

Wilmington University's chapter of the international honor society in social science, Pi Gamma Mu, was recently awarded the Roll of Distinction.

The Roll of Distinction is the highest award that can be granted to a chapter by the society’s board of trustees. The award is based on the each chapter’s activities, social service and involvement on campus.

The chapter is participating again this year in the annual Lewes Polar Bear Plunge on February 3 to benefit Special Olympics Delaware. Last year, the group helped raise $1,295 for this popular event.

Pi Gamma Mu is the oldest and preeminent honor society in the social sciences. It is also the only interdisciplinary social science honor society. Their mission is to recognize and encourage superior scholarship in social science disciplines, and to foster cooperation and social service among its members.

For more information on how to join Pi Gamma Mu, contact Johanna Bishop, Pi Gamma Mu advisor and Director of Behavioral Science Program, Johanna.p.bishop@wilmu.edu.
