Wilmington University Announces Study Abroad in Ireland

Students Tour Ireland, Northern Ireland While Earning Credits

Wilmington University’s College of Social and Behavioral Sciences announces a new study abroad opportunity in Ireland and Northern Ireland for the Summer I 2014 semester.

Courses are:

CRJ      390      Special Topic: Emerald Isle Study Abroad (3cr)

CRJ      391      Special Topic: Emerald Isle Study Abroad (3cr)

MAJ     6701    Special Topic: Emerald Isle Study Abroad (3cr)

According to former Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Dr. Thomas Cupples, the program is a multidisciplinary travel program with a focus on criminal justice. It is designed to provide students in all majors the opportunity to experience  the culture of Ireland togetherwhile also pursuing their identified areas of interest. 

The tour will visit Dublin, Belfast, Derry, Sligo, Galway, Spiddal, Cliffs of Moher, Killarney, Dingle Peninsula, and Templmore from May 27-June 6, 2014. Cost is $2,988 per person with many inclusive features including airfare, meals, hotel, transportation and more. Financial aid is applicable for the trip.

In addition to students taking courses for credit, it is also permissible for alumni, faculty, and other guests to attend the program. It is not imperative that participants earn credits.

The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences is committed to helping students participate in the educational and cultural enhancing experience of studying abroad. Sightseeing and travel itineraries are planned in conjunction with Premier Tours to help students experience and embrace Irish customs and learn about Irish culture.
