Wilmington University Kicks Off Third Annual “Proud Donor” Campaign

Wilmington University’s 2014 Proud Donor Campaign is set to kick off its third year on February 14 with a brand new video featuring University staff and faculty members. This year’s goal is to increase employee support of the student scholarship fund well beyond last year’s record of 60 percent participation.

In addition to the video, the month long campaign will capture the attention of each University site as Proud Donor Committee members will be at each location to hand out candy and other giveaways to every WilmU employee they meet. “Proud Donor” buttons will be given to each employee who donates to the fund and each donor’s name will be entered into a prize raffle.

A “cupcake social” will wrap up the employee donor campaign on Friday, March 14. All University locations will celebrate at the same time and will be able to share in all other sites’ fun via web conference. Past scholarship recipients will be on-hand at the shared social to say “Thanks!” and show their appreciation. The raffle drawing and awarding of the grand prize will highlight of the end-of-campaign festivities.

This year’s Proud Donor Committee includes representatives from all University locations:

o   Brandi Purcell, Gloria Johnson and Jane West – Campaign captains/New Castle campus

o   Chris Owens – New Castle campus

o   Kim Christensen and Elizabeth Santolupo – Wilson Graduate Center

o   Dennis Huffman – Rehoboth site

o   Dana Abbott-Painter – Georgetown site

o   Janet Gill – Dover site

o   Louise Babuschak – New Jersey sites

“The Proud Donor Campaign committee was created to unify and inspire employees to ‘set the example’ for giving to the Annual Fund,” said Brandi Purcell, Proud Donor Campaign chair and coordinator of the annual fund. “Every penny donated – that’s 100 percent of each donation – goes toward scholarships and I’m happy to say that the committee members get more excited and creative each year to ensure we get additional donors in support of our students.”
