Wilmington University Presents "Del and Deming: Leading Change through Art and Science" on March 18

Christiana Health Care System VP Mike Eppehimer merges two very different philosophies to manage change.

Wilmington University will host Christiana Health Care System Vice President Mike Eppehimer for a presentation entitled "Del and Deming: Leading Change Through Art and Science," at 1:00 p.m. on March 18, 2015, in the Pratt Student Center on the main New Castle campus.

This talk is free and open to the public.

Sponsored by the Wilmington University College of Business, Student Life, Culture and Arts, and the Peoples Library, Eppehimer will focus his talk on how he brought together the philosophies of two seemingly dissimilar cultural icons – Del Close, widely acknowledged as the godfather of improvisational comedy, and W. Edwards Deming, originator of improvement science theories that have informed major corporations such as Toyota and General Electric – to develop a unique and timely leadership style for the challenges and uncertainty of today’s business climate.

"Being able to approach challenging situations with humor is a skill most people wish they had," said Katherine Cottle, Assistant Professor and Chair of Wilmington University's Humanities and Literature Programs. "The event promises to be entertaining and enlightening."
