Application Letters for Wilmington University Student Scholarships Due by September 25

Students with Italian-American roots must submit letters of application directly to the Societa da Vinci.

The Societa da Vinci, a 501C (3) Italian-American charitable organization, is offering two scholarships to two full-time Italian-American students who are registered and attending classes at Wilmington University this fall.

Two students will be selected to receive $5,000 a year for four years while attending Wilmington University.

WilmU students of Italian decent may apply by writing a letter of application. Letters should include evidence of students' solid academic achievements and financial need.

All application letters by students should be submitted to the da Vinci Society via email, regular mail or by fax. All applications must be received by midnight on Friday, September 25th.

Email applications should be sent to Dr. Peter Rocca at PeterRocco@aol.com. Letters may be mailed to Peter Rocca, MD, 537 Stanton-Christiana Rd, #101, Newark, DE 19713. Application letters can also be faxed to Dr. Rocca at (320) 683-9494.

This non-profit organization has strong ties to the Wilmington community and is made up of men from various professional, educational, business and entrepreneurial segments of the Italian-American community. All funds raised by the Society go directly into the community.

“Wilmington University President Dr. Jack Varsalona has been impressed with our dedication to the community and was kind enough to offer the Societa the equivalent of a four-year tuition at WilmU for us to award,” said Dr. Peter Rocca, member-at-large on the Societa da Vinci Board of Directors. “This is a new venture for us and we are excited about the possibilities.”

For more information, contact Dr. Rocca at peterrocca@aol.com.
