Wilmington University January Commencement Postponed to February 7

Severe winter storm and Delaware state of emergency forces rescheduling of university graduation date.

Wilmington University commencement for the graduating students of the class of 2016 has been postponed by the university until February 7 due to severe winter weather and the level 2 state of emergency declared by Governor Jack Markell earlier in the day on Saturday.

The ceremonies will take place at the Chase Center on the Wilmington Riverfront on that date.

There will be one change to the schedule of ceremonies on February 7. The last ceremony, previously scheduled for 4:30 p.m. will commence a half hour earlier, at 4:00 p.m. instead.

The class of 2016 is part of a total Wilmington University enrollment of more than 20,000 students.

Another release announcing the commencement will be sent prior to the February 7 exercises. Contact Wilmington University Public Relations at 302-650-0900 for updates and additional information, or go to http://www.wilmu.edu/graduation/index.aspx.
