Mission and Vision


Wilmington University’s Office of Work-Integrated Learning provides an academic program grounded in the institution’s commitment to “excellence in teaching” and “exemplary career-oriented” degree programs. It promotes experiential learning in addition to career and personal development through student participation in paid, relevant and progressive employment. Learning outcomes include development of critical thinking skills and integration of classroom theory with workplace practice.


The Office of Work-Integrated Learning is comprised of a dedicated group of individuals, including a multidisciplinary faculty, staff and administrators who are committed to:

  • leading and innovating in the discipline of cooperative education;
  • developing the curriculum and teaching methodologies to enhance the integration of classroom learning with practical work-related experiences;
  • creating mutually beneficial partnerships with employers, the community, alumni, academic departments, other universities and professional organizations.
