Dr. Baker teaches undergraduate courses in research, chronic & palliative care, and global healthcare. She teaches graduate courses in teaching & learning, evidence-based practice, and capstones for leadership and nurse practitioner students. Her practice experience includes: acute care women's health, family case management, public health, HIV/AIDS care, occupational health, and nursing education.

She has written student workbook guides and instructor manuals in the areas of chronic care, research, and evidence-based practice. She writes a Data Bits column for the Delaware Nurses Association’s newsletter. She reviews professional publications in the areas of community healthcare, complementary and alternative therapies, research, and education. She peer reviews for the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses. She is certified as a Clinical Specialist in Community Health and coordinates a Health Outreach Ministry as her clinical practice.
