In this facilitated online course you will be introduced to the Blackboard Learning System graphical user interface, general navigation, and core tools used in the teaching and learning process. This completely online training contains readings and activities that will review such Blackboard features as; adding a Syllabus, creating an instructor profile, adding web resources and basic navigation procedures. Video (containing audio) tutorials are included for each task.
Blackboard Advanced is an online training course for instructors that have completed the basic training and want to increase their knowledge of Blackboard in an online, self-paced environment. This lesson sequence is particularly well-suited for preparing future Hybrid and Online Training (HOT) participants. Blackboard Advanced contains readings and activities that will review Blackboard features such as Assignments, Assessments, Discussion Boards, use of the Grade Center, Groups, and Course Copy. Upon successful completion of this online training, participants will be able to enroll in the HOT training for online instructor certification.
Instructors have the opportunity to become certified to teach online and hybrid courses. To become certified, instructors must complete the Hybrid and Online Training (HOT) course. This three week course is offered several times throughout the year and is completed entirely online. Please note that it is not a self-paced course and will need to be completed within the published timelines. To become eligible for the HOT course, instructors must complete the Basic and Advanced Blackboard lessons mentioned above.
