7 Steps to Completing Your Financial Aid

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the Web as soon as you and or your parents have filed for federal tax return. New Wilmington University students are encouraged to submit the FAFSA on the Web by February 15.

If you submitted your 2009-10 FAFSA more than four weeks ago and have not received confirmation from the University, make sure you have released your FAFSA information to Wilmington University and then contact the Financial Aid Office (302) 356-4636.
If you have been notified to submit additional documentation, please respond as soon as possible. Aid cannot be processed until those documents are received.

Rejected FAFSA: If your FAFSA is rejected by the federal processor, it is not considered "processed" The most common reason why a FAFSA is rejected is when it is missing the required signatures. Be sure to sign the FAFSA.

Keep in mind that your eligibility for summer student aid may be limited if you have used your eligibility during the fall and spring semesters. Federal Aid has yearly as well as cummulative limits.

Submission deadlines

State of Delaware- You must submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the federal processor by April 15 to be considered for the Delaware Scholarships.

Federal Aid for the Academic year- If you are requested to submit additional application items to the Financial Aid Office for verification purposes, the office should receive these additional items by May 1, 2009 to ensure awards are processed in time for the fall semester.
