Wilmington University Hosts June Cyber Crime Colloquium

On Monday, June 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wilmington University's College of Technology will host an evening on cyber security. This Cyber Crime Colloquium, entitled, “Changing the Game: Moving from Information Assurance to Mission Assurance,” will be held in the Auditorium on the University's Dover campus. This free colloquium, which is open to the general public, is just one in the College of Technology's series of Cyber Security Colloquiums.

“Changing the Game: Moving from Information Assurance to Mission Assurance” will focus on the emerging arena of Cyber Mission Assurance in current society. The colloquium will feature a cutting-edge presentation by Wedne Peters, who will discuss the concepts involved in establishing a cyber mission assurance initiative, and recent real-world examples of how a mission perspective may change our view on cyber attack and survivability. Peters is a member of the Principal Professional Staff at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, specializing in architectures and systems engineering for full spectrum cyber operations on behalf of the Department of Defense and the US Government. She also served as the Director of the National Information Assurance Engagement Center, and has provided research and strategy leadership in the area of Cyber Mission Assurance, emphasizing the analysis of cyber systems and cyber warfare and their correlation to warfighter mission objectives. She previously served as the US Navy’s Chief Engineer for the Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System.

Wilmington University's College of Technology offers associate's, bachelor's, and master's degree programs in many different disciplines, including a B.S. in Computer and Network Security and a M.S.in Information Systems Technologies.
