Fraczkowski and Grace Earn NSCAA All-East Region Women’s Soccer Postseason Honors

A pair of Wilmington University women’s soccer player were recently named All-Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Sophomore Morgan Fraczkowski was named Second Team All-East Region, while junior Chelsea Grace added to her postseason award collection by being named Third Team honors.

In a vote by the regions’ head coaches consisting of the Northeast 10, Central Atlantic Collegiate, and East Coast Conferences, Fraczkowski and Grace were a part of 41 student-athletes who were named to three teams for the East Region.

Fraczkowski (Forest Hill, Md./John Carroll), who earned CACC First Team honors and was named to the CACC All-Tournament Team, started all 22 games in the midfield for the Wildcats and was third on the team with seven goals and fourth with 18 points. She scored a season high four points with a pair of goals in a 6-0 rout of Bloomfield on Homecoming. She also scored in back-to-back games to end the regular season, helping the team capture the CACC Regular Season Championship.

Grace (Palmyra, N.J./Palmyra), who earned Second Team All-Region honors for Daktonics and was a second team All-CACC and All-Tournament performer, played in all 22 games this season, starting 18 atop the team’s formation. She led the team with a total of 31 points, scoring 12 goals and adding seven assists. She ended the season tied for third in the CACC in both goals and assists, and tied for second in points. Nine of her goals came later in the season, seven of them coming in a span of four games from October 13 to October 23. She scored a hat trick, including the game winner, against Chestnut Hill College, which helped Wilmington to a 6-2 victory.

The Wildcats had a breakout season, winning the CACC Regular Season Championship for the second time in program history and captured the CACC Tournament Championship and the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament for the first time. The Wildcats finished with a 13-7-2 overall record, going 10-1-1 in the CACC.

In addition to Fraczkowski and Grace, the CACC had six other members named NSCAA All-Region. Philadelphia goalkeeper Kelli Kowalewski was the lone representative on the First Team while Denisha Thomas (Georgian Court), Julie Crankshaw (Caldwell) and Renel Dennis (Post) were named to the Second Team. Chelsea Reidell (Philadelphia) and Melissa Benson (Holy Family) rounded out the CACC standouts with Third Team honors.
