From the moment Emily Duck received her first digital camera as a gift, she knew her career goals were changed forever. She immediately changed majors and enrolled as a Media Design major at Wilmington University. Today, Emily's work is featured in the April 2013 issue of Delaware Today magazine. More of her images will be used in future issues.
“Emily is a bright, professional, respectful and enthusiastic woman," said Maria Hess, editor-in-chief of Delaware Today. "We're thrilled to work with her. She is a fine representative of Wilmington University.”
As a Spring 2013 semester intern with Delaware Today, Emily photographed the pet grooming salon "Dogworks" and its owner, Sara Hawk, in Newark on February 2. The photos from this shoot are currently featured in the April issue.
She also served as photographic assistant for our “Top Nurses” photo shoot for the magazine’s specialty issue that is due out in May 2013. Emily took behind-the scene-shots, which will also be used as a web exclusive and “sneak peak” for the accompanying feature.
Emily is a senior earning her BS degree in Media Design on the Photography track. She is preparing to graduate in May of this year. After graduation, she plans to begin a photography business while pursuing other artistic and creative endeavors such as writing. She has seen four of her original poems published over the last few years.
