Golf Scholarship Classic
Are you ready to tee it up to help a student’s dream of a quality education come true? If so, then you will get your chance on May 14th at the Third Annual Wilmington University Scholarship Classic. The Scholarship Golf Classic is an event which raises money to help students pay for tuition, books, and fees. Since Wilmington University does not rely on corporate support, or seek federal funds or grants, your help is critical. And what better way to help students get a university education than spending a day with friends on a championship golf course?
This year’s tournament will be held at the beautiful Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, DE. The Deerfield Golf Club is a breathtaking par 70 course, surrounded by the picturesque White Clay Creek State Park. With smooth bent grass greens, rolling hills and well-manicured fairways everyone is sure to find this outing memorable. Also, the chance to win a car or other cash prizes keeps every hole an exciting challenge.
Even if you are not a golfer, there are several other ways that you can support the leaders of tomorrow. For example, you or your business can choose one of six sponsorship packages that range from $500 to $5,000. These packages not only provide needed resources to our students, but they also offer an incredible opportunity for you to promote your business. Also, any sponsor who donates $1000 or more will be featured on the University website for one year and acknowledged at the Awards Banquet. Finally, if you are not a golfer or a sponsor, you can still come and enjoy the 19th Hole Celebration, which includes food, beverages, awards and a silent auction, for only $40.
If history is any indication, we are in for an amazing day of benevolence, networking, and golf. Last year’s event was a tremendous success, with an outstanding turnout. According to Stefanie Whitby, Senior Director of Alumni Relations, last year’s event raised over $20,000 for Wilmington University students! While this is a truly incredible accomplishment, with your participation and support we can achieve an even higher level of success.
