Nearly 600 Attend Wilmington University 2013 Ed Tech Workshops
So far, 2013 is a good year for Wilmington University's Educational Technology workshops. A total of 599 faculty and staff have attended scheduled sessions and more are planned.
The Ed Tech Team conducts workshops and training to meet college, program and individual faculty and staff needs on topics ranging from classroom presentation software to Blackboard to Microsoft Office applications. The team typically offers between 15 and 25 different topics, with sessions offered at most of the University’s 14 locations.
The team also provides customized workshops for program chairs, college meetings and departmental meetings.
In January, 237 faculty and staff attended an Ed Tech workshop. In February, 195 people attended. In March, the total was 167.
“As an instructor myself, I understand the challenges that come along with learning new and unfamiliar technologies,” said Sallie Reissman, Senior Director of Online Learning and Educational Technology. “It’s simply overwhelming sometimes.”
The Ed Tech team makes it easy for faculty and staff to learn new technology quickly and effectively in order to better educate their students and create a more efficient workflow by providing training, resources and personalized guidance, Reissman said.
