Wilmington University Ranked No. 1 on Affordable Colleges Website says WilmU ‘wins’ in affordability

Wilmington University recently made the top spot on a website ranking the most affordable online degree programs at colleges and universities in Delaware. (also known as AC Online) ranks the university Number 1 for “Online Colleges in Delaware That Win on Affordability.”

The site provides information on distance learning options from public and private nonprofit institutions with full accreditation. Its CEO, Dan Schuessler, determined the site’s rankings by analyzing more than 2,000 accredited colleges and universities across the nation.

“This ranking is further proof that our mission of providing opportunity for all is spreading far and wide,” said Eileen Donnelly, Wilmington University’s Assistant Vice President of Technology and Dean of the College of Online and Experiential Learning. “Giving people greater flexibility to pursue an affordable, high quality education is at the heart and soul of what we do here at Wilmington University. We are seeking ways to offer our online programs beyond our region and this listing on AC Online certainly helps toward that end.”

Based in San Francisco, California, AC Online’s mission is to help families make the college experience more affordable. It does this by compiling and analyzing college cost trends and tracking government response to those trends. It develops rankings of colleges that “win” in several categories, including affordability and return on investment. Users can search by college, state, degree program or career interest to find the best fit for their higher education. The site also contains a wealth of financial aid information and cost-saving tips.

“For-profit schools no longer dominate the distance-learning landscape,” Schuessler said. “So many of today’s top universities have added full online degree programs to their catalogs, making it much easer for non-traditional students to receive a quality education.” is an independent website and is not affiliated with or sponsored by Wilmington University.
