2nd Annual New Jersey Wine Tasting Event was a Success!

On May 9, 2014, several WilmU Alumni and friends came out to join the New Jersey Chapter of the Wilmington University Alumni Association for its second annual NJ Wine Tasting Event. This event was a cultured evening of networking, conversation, and of course wine tasting!  Fruits and cheeses were paired perfectly to please all palates.  It was a wonderful opportunity to meet many Wilmington University representatives and network with WU alumni while sampling amazing wines!

Heritage Vineyards is a family owned and operated estate vineyard and winery located in Mullica Hill, New Jersey. The Garden State Wine Growers Association recently named this scenic winery New Jersey’s “Winery of the Year." This vineyard is quickly establishing itself as a flagship producer of fine wine in the heart of the Outer Coastal Plain American Viticultural Area (AVA), which covers over 2.25 million acres in Southeastern New Jersey.  Your senses are sure to be gratified as you partake of this winegrower's offerings!

As great as the wine was, it took second stage to the beauty of the interactions between fellow WilmU alumni.  This evening was a great chance to reconnect with friends, and establish new relationships with people who share a common cord of connection to Wilmington University.  WilmU’s New Jersey Alumni chapter co-chair Aparicio Giddens says that this event is the highlight of his year because of the atmosphere and the chance to enjoy great conversations paired with wonderful food and wine. If you happened to miss this event, please be sure to be on the look out for it next year!
