WilmU Alumni’s Summer Taste and Tour Was a Blast!
Fordham & Dominion Brewery was Hopping with Wildcat Spirit!
On August 22, 2014 dozens of WilmU Alumni, Staff, Faculty, and friends of the University gathered at the Fordham & Dominion Brewery in Dover, for an amazing night of food, craft beer and sodas, live music, and games. Guests arrived wearing the bright colors of the tropics, and lounged comfortably in beach chairs as cornhole competitors battled it out for bragging rights. And as people worked up an appetite, they were greeted with an incredible spread including flame roasted barbeque pork and chicken, vegetarian options and many side dishes. All of this fare was perfectly complemented by the sodas and beers that were hand crafted right there on the premises.
The event, which was hosted by the Kent and Sussex County Alumni Chapter, featured the incredible vocal styling of Kevin Sarkissian. Kevin played an impressively diverse selection of music, all with his signature tone, and warm guitar melodies, while capturing the attention of all within earshot with his soulful harmonica riffs.
Not only did the attendees gather for a time of relaxation they also pitched in to raise money and awareness to battle breast cancer in the name of Angela Vicario, one of our alumna who recently passed due to this illness. Winners walked away with lovely prizes, but all left with the feeling that they have done a lot of good.
Yes, the food, beverages, and entertainment were all spectacular; but the real highlight of the evening was the laughter and conversations that permeated the grounds as friends and fellow alumni enjoyed each other’s company. It was wonderful to witness the genuine connections that were being made by people that were all bound by a love of Wilmington University.
