A Couple of Firsts for WilmU’s Alumni Weekend!
New for 2014: Tailgating and Homecoming Weekend 5K Spirit Run and Walk
This year the Wilmington University Homecoming Weekend will include a couple of exciting new attractions! Make sure that you plan ahead so that you do not miss these awesome Green and White experiences!
Tailgating
Are you planning on coming out to the double header men's and women's WilmU Wildcats vs. Concordia College Homecoming Soccer games? If so, why don’t you consider loading up the cooler to take advantage of a fun new addition to the festivities?
Tailgating is going to take place in a reserved area of the WilmU Sports Complex parking lot. (Located on Route 40 at Walther Road). The cost is $40 per space and is on a first-come, first-served basis. The parking lot opens at 9:00 a.m. (3 hours prior to the start of the Women's Soccer Game) and closes 60 minutes after the conclusion of the men's soccer game.
The tailgating "captain" (the individual who reserved the space) will be notified by a Wilmington University representative once the registration and payment are received. The tailgating captain will receive a packet of information in the mail, including: rules and regulations, parking pass, map of the parking area and wrist bands.
Every attendee in your tailgate that is 21 and older MUST WEAR A WRISTBAND. If you need additional bands please contact the Alumni Relations department. Each spot will be designated one parking pass. Bring the pass with you to Homecoming – it will allow your entrance into the tailgating area!

Homecoming Weekend Spirit Run and Walk 5K
The Wilmington University Homecoming Weekend 5K Spirit Run/Walk will round out a full weekend of activities and will take place at Glasgow Park on Sunday, September 21st. The event will start with a short "Kids Romp" (ages 12 and under) at 10:00am, followed by the Spirit Run/Walk at 10:30am. All participants will receive a WilmU Homecoming Weekend 5K Spirit Run t-shirt, awards will be given, and healthy snacks and beverages will be provided at the end of the race.
Go ahead and show off your WilmU Spirit and you will have a chance to win the "WilmU Spirit" award. Day of registration will take place from 9:00am until 9:45am and will coast $20.00. This event will take place RAIN OR SHINE.
