Consider arriving on campus by 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, before the Wilmusic Fest, for Wilmington University's latest offering: 360 Yoga!

Click here to register. Cost is $25 per person. The first 75 registrants will receive a free tote bag and the first 50 registrants will receive a free tote bag and sweat towel.

"360 Yoga brings together the community of yoga students, teachers, and wellness providers for a morning of personal practice and learning before an afternoon of local music," said Dr. Regina Allen-Sharpe, who heads up the Career Services Department at the University. "Everyone who is interested in mind-body wellness and yoga is welcome. No fancy yoga outfits needed, just bring a yoga mat and an open mind."

In addition to actual yoga practice, a series of wellness and centering workshops led by local yoga instructors and mindfulness and meditation practitioners is being offered to all attendees. From those who have an interest but have yet to try yoga to those who are regular and long-time practitioners, all levels of experience and ability are welcome from the University and surrounding community. Participants may choose from a variety of sessions to create a uniquely individualized  program of speakers and interactive sessions throughout the morning.

Yoga practice owes itself to well over 5000 years of learning and practice beginning in the Indus region of ancient India. Classical yoga practice was refined over the centuries to include a systematic series of exercise postures ("asanas") centered around the breath ("prana") and control of the breath ("pranayama"). Yoga combines balance, strength and endurance, making it attractive to all age groups. It is estimated that over 20 million Americans over the age of 18 practice yoga as a part of, or as their only, exercise practice.
