Telling Tales That Teach
Local children's author Jamie Kleman discusses her new book on April 25
As a child, Jamie Kleman enjoyed discovering that small books could carry big messages. As a children's author, she writes stories and poems that help young readers develop useful skills for navigating childhood.
Join Kleman at Wilmington University on Tuesday, April 25, as she talks about, and reads excerpts from, her latest book, The Nevergreen Tree, in which a little tree with a big imagination demonstrates the importance of play in daily life.
Kleman's talk will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the Pratt Student Center, located on Wilmington University's main campus at 320 N. DuPont Highway in New Castle. Admission is free and the community is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served. No pre-registration is required.
Kleman is the executive director of the Wilmington-based nonprofit A Bigger Boat Foundation, which works with schools and community organizations to teach memorable lessons on compassion, creativity and confidence through books, classes and musical presentations.
For more information about the event, contact Jim McCloskey, director of the Robert C. and Dorothy M. Peoples Library at Wilmington University, at james.m.mccloskey@wilmu.edu, or call (302) 356-6880.
