Team Up for the Mary Campbell Center 5K on May 20

Calling All Runners: Lace up your shoes as 'Team WilmU' for the 4th annual Roll Stroll & Run

Are you a runner? A walker? Like to walk and stroll? Wilmington University is looking for a few fleet feet to join its team in the 4th annual Mary Campbell Center 5K Roll, Stroll & Run at Bellevue State Park on Saturday, May 20.

A proud sponsor of the event since its starting line, Wilmington University has 10 free entries in the race. You don't have to have a "26.2" sticker on your car (or even a "13.1") to be part of the team. Anyone who enjoys a morning run in the park is welcome to participate. The flat, 3.1 mile course winds through woods and fields, and a shorter course is available.

To join the WilmU team for the 5K Roll Stroll & Run, contact Thomas Shea, the Mary Campbell Center's director of external affairs, at tshea@marycampbellcenter.org or (302) 762-6025 x172.

Registration opens at 8 a.m. on May 20 and the race starts at 9 a.m. Bellevue State Park is located at 800 Carr Road in Wilmington.

Frequently asked questions about the event are answered at its registration website.

Along with Wilmington University, sponsors include Fusion Race Timing and Long & Foster Real Estate.

For 40 years running, the Wilmington-based Mary Campbell Center has been providing residential long-term care, respite care and youth programs to physically and intellectually disabled individuals with dignity, respect, safety and comfort.
