Wilmington University Rehoboth Site Celebrates 15 Years of Community Enrichment

Take a drive to the beach this weekend and join the celebration!

The Rehoboth site of Wilmington University, located in Rehoboth Beach just off the boardwalk on Rehoboth Avenue, hosted the kick-off of a year-long celebration of its 15 year anniversary on Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17. The special 2-day event took place at the site's off-boardwalk location from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at classroom building at 41 Rehoboth Avenue.

The event included games and prizes, including free classes and other giveaways in appreciation to the community and its support over the past 15 years. All Wilmington University students, alumni, faculty, staff and employees were nvited to visit the beach and join in the celebration along with Rehoboth community residents and visitors.

"It was a great opportunity to show our gratitude to local students and businesses who have embraced us and to encourage others in the community to come in and check out what we have to offer,” said Dennis Huffman, Rehoboth Site Director.

As a special added attraction, the Rehoboth location also unveiled a new, "celebration edition" of its popular Art Show featuring many works of the site’s talented students.

Wilmington University in Rehoboth currently offers approximately 100 courses and workshops in subjects ranging from computers, social media, art, languages, financial planning and environmental concerns. The University supports regional artisans and businesses through a variety of approaches – including hands-on workshops and local tours. These sessions foster stronger relationships between residents and businesses, ultimately creating a more robust community.

Additional activities for the year-long celebration will be posted periodically throughout the year.
