Why does my phone only ring once and then go to voicemail?

The ring volume on your phone is controlled by an up and down volume button and if you lower the volume below the lowest level it turns the ring volume off. When the ring volume is turned off, the phone will only ring once audibly and the other three rings will be silent. To ensure that you have not turned the ring volume off, press the up button until your phone shows at least one bar in the phone view window.

How do I forward my phone calls to an external number (CFOS)?

Phone system allows you to forward your DID number out of the system (Call Forward Out of System—CFOS). There is no remote capability to do this; this must be set and turned off from your desk phone. Click Here for CFOS Instructions.

How do I program a DSS button on my phone?

Direct Station Selection (DSS) buttons provide status light feedback for any internal four digit extension that is programmed to your phone buttons. The button for a programmed DSS extension will blink red when that phone is ringing or display a solid red when the phone is in use. To store an extension as a DSS number to a phone button,

  1. Select the Options button in the phone view window.
  2. Press the Next button until DSS appears.
  3. Select the DSS button.
  4. When Location appears in the view window, press the button on your phone where you want to store the number.
  5. When Ext appears in the view window, enter the four digit extension that you want to program.
  6. Press the Exit button.
  7. Press the Speaker button to exit programming.

How do I program a Speed Dial button on my phone?

Speed Dial buttons provide a way of dialing an external phone number by pressing one button. To store a Speed Dial number to a phone button on your phone,

  1. Select the Options button in the phone view window.
  2. Press the Next button until SDial appears.
  3. Select the SDial button.
  4. When Location appears in the view window, press the button on your phone where you want to store the number.
  5. When Preselect appears in the view window, enter the digit 9 to indicate an outgoing number.
  6. When Dial Number appears in the view window, enter the phone number (7/10/11 digits).
  7. Press the Save button.
  8. Press the Exit Button.
  9. Press the Speaker Button to exit programming.

How can I retrieve messages for a different mailbox from my phone.

  1. Press button under VMAIL in view window of your phone.
  2. You will hear "Please enter your password".
  3. Press the # key .
  4. You will hear "If you know your parties extension, please dial it now".
  5. Press the # key again.
  6. You will hear "Please enter your mailbox number".
  7. Enter the number of the mailbox that you want to retrieve messages for and the system will prompt you to enter the mailbox password.
  8. Enter the password for that mailbox and you may now listen to any messages left in that mailbox.

How do I save the volume setting on my phone?

Once you have the volume, (ring, handset or speaker) where you prefer it, press **7 to save it.

I have a message showing in the view window on my phone. What do I do?

Press the Clear Message button to delete any messages that are appearing in the view window of your phone.

Hold/Mute/Speaker Light on phone is flashing and will not stop. What do I do?

Most issues with flashing lights are caused by a short in a circuit. You will have to reset the phone to clear out light errors. To reset your phone, unplug the phone cord from the back of the phone for approx 10 seconds and then reconnect it.

What do lights on my phone represent?

The lights on your desk phone indicate the status of lines and features.

Next to a Direct Station Select (DSS) button:

  • Steady red = station in use.
  • Flashing red = station is receiving a call.

Next to a line (POOL) button:

  • Steady green = this is your extension, either on-hook (in speakerphone mode) or off-hook, when the line is active.
  • Steady red = another station is using this line.
  • Flashing red = a call is coming in on this line.
  • Flashing orange = this line will be answered when you lift the handset.
  • Winking green with repetitive off periods = your line is on hold.
  • Winking red = the call has been placed on hold by another station.
  • Fluttering orange = your line has recalled from hold.
  • Fluttering red = the line put on hold by another station has recalled.

Next to a fixed feature (ex – lock, fwd):

  • Steady red = the feature is on.
  • Steady off = the feature is off.

Next to the HOLD button:

  • Winking green with repetitive off periods = a line is on hold at your station.

Next to the MUTE button:

  • On steady = called party cannot hear your conversation.

Next to SPEAKER button:

  • On steady (with the telephone on hook and busy) = speakerphone mode is active.
