Virtual Session 1 (9:00 - 9:50am)

Session: Blackboard Exemplary Course Process

Presenter: Kelly Winchell

Brief synopsis of the presentation:

Each year Blackboard honors courses that deliver innovative and effective learning experiences.  This year WilmU submitted three courses to be reviewed.  The Exemplary Course Review Process is similar to the Online Course Review process that we have at the University. In this workshop we will review the rubric used by Blackboard to evaluate the submissions.  We will also take a look at some previous exemplars and discuss ways that instructors can implement some of the best practices into our courses at WilmU.

Virtual Session 2 (10:00 - 10:50am)

Session: Personalize Your Online Template - a NEW Self-paced Training for HOT Certified Instructors

Presenter: Dr. Lucia Nemeth

Brief synopsis of the presentation:

The Educational Technology and Online Learning department is in the process of creating a training course titled "Personalize Your Template". It is designed for graduates of HOT interested in learning more advanced technologies to enhance their course templates. Divided into five modules, faculty will learn how to make basic customizations to the course template, make enhancements to course content through powerful technologies such as screencasts, podcasting and voice authorizing, and lastly, learn the ins and outs of the grade center and rubrics. At the completion of this course, faculty will work in collaboration with the instructor to ensure that the course template has been customized properly. This session provides a “sneak peek” into the Personalize Your Template course and seeks your input for further development.
