As part of the Wilmington University community you’ve probably begun to notice the changes in the University's look throughout our materials, our web page, advertisements, signage, flyers, mailings, letters and other collateral pieces. We feel a strong visual identity of an organization can be a valuable asset. While the look may be new, our commitment to students will remain the same.

The most noted change will be that of the University's new logo, a clock tower, which some of you may associate with one of our first buildings, the Pratt Student Center, in New Castle. What was wrong with the old logo? The world of higher education is ever changing. To show that as an institution we are prepared to adjust to the changes and meet the challenges, we have adopted the new logo.

The logo was developed and tested along with five other logos that were presented to focus groups. The focus groups and various other research methods conducted over the past five months proved that institutional logos featuring an architectural design communicate stability, academia and tradition. The clock tower logo was selected three to one over any of the logos that were developed and tested.

With the role of the University expanding rapidly throughout the state of Delaware, we feel a need to create a look that people from all over the state and the surrounding areas can immediately identify with Wilmington University.
