What happens in an online course is that the students can engage with other students one-on-one. You know one another; you’ve been in courses together.

Blackboard is the course management system that we use, and students get a lot of feedback from the instructor about your assignments. You can check on your assignments, there’s discussion boards that they post their threads weekly. And even though you may not see each other face-to-face, the faculty member’s there for them every step of the way.

I try my best to make sure that I establish a rapport to not just help that person understand the concepts and the theories that are taught within the class; but also still help them to develop as a student, still help them out professionally, and still help them grow as a person.

Our online students are very fortunate: every service that you can think of is available to you in electronic format. Our registration and payment is completely online; it makes it very easy for the student to find the courses they need, so you don’t have to come to campus for our services. You can get twenty-four seven help, and we really want the student to succeed.
