Biography
Dr. Jessie Howard is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH) in the State of Delaware. She earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of the Cumberlands in 2024, following a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wilmington University in 2017 and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from the University of Delaware in 2014.
Dr. Howard serves as an adjunct faculty member and program advisor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Wilmington University, where she teaches Group Counseling and Practicum. She is committed to supporting emerging counselors through experiential learning, reflective practice, and professional mentorship. Her approach to counselor education emphasizes both clinical excellence and human connection.
Clinically, Dr. Howard has worked across a variety of settings—including schools, community agencies, and private practice—for over a decade. She continues to provide therapy at her group practice located in Milford, Delaware. Her specialties include trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), anxiety disorders, and trauma-informed care across the lifespan. She draws from a humanistic foundation, integrating warmth, authenticity, and client empowerment into her clinical work. A proud lifelong Delawarean, Dr. Howard is deeply committed to serving her local community and advancing the field of mental health care across the state. She is passionate about counselor development, trauma recovery, and fostering resilience in both clients and students. Whether in the classroom or the therapy room, she brings a grounded, compassionate presence to everything she does.
