To enhance the learning experience and prepare students for the modern accounting landscape, the program integrates digital tools like Microsoft Excel and Tableau. Excel's advanced capabilities in financial analysis and data organization, along with Tableau's powerful data visualization features, enhance technical proficiency and improve analytical and presentation skills.
Community engagement is a cornerstone of our program, fostering social responsibility and real-world application of accounting skills. Students will have the option to participate in projects like the Tax Help Practicum, providing free tax assistance to low-income individuals and families, which builds technical skills and empathy.
Our program also includes experiential learning opportunities such as case studies, business simulations, guest lectures, and industry panels. These experiences ensure graduates are well-prepared for professional practice.
Students completing the program will be able to:
Summarize financial information with clarity and accuracy in oral and written formats, collaborate effectively in teams, and produce professional reports that adhere to GAAP and industry standards.
Solve financial problems by applying analytical thinking, adaptability, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to address real-world accounting challenges.
Develop leadership skills through mentorship, self-reflection, and experiential learning, applying these skills to promote ethical practices, sound decision-making, and influence in professional accounting contexts.
