Biography

John Rolfe retired from the Delaware State Police (DSP) after 27 years of distinguished service, including over 12 years as a Patrol Supervisor. Throughout his career, he demonstrated a deep commitment to public safety, leadership, and mentoring within the law enforcement community.

As an Adjunct Professor at Wilmington University, John brings real-world experience and academic insight into the classroom. His teaching background also includes serving as an instructor at the Delaware State Police Academy and volunteering his time to educate inmates at the correctional facility in Smyrna.

John’s passion lies in exploring and discussing criminal justice theory and practice. His academic journey began with an associate degree from a local community college, followed by both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Wilmington University. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he serves as the Adjunct Program Coordinator for the Master of Administration of Justice (MAJ) and Master of Human Services (MHS) programs.

Dedicated to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment, John encourages students to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and share their perspectives. He believes that criminal justice is a complex and ever-evolving field, and he values the diverse experiences and insights that students contribute to class discussions.
