Biography

Dr. Shiloh Andrus serves as Chair of the Behavioral Science and Master of Professional Studies programs at Wilmington University, where she also currently holds the role of Interim Chair for the Associate of Applied Behavioral Health program.

She earned her doctorate in Higher Education, Leadership, and Innovation in 2015, with a research focus on resilience. Her academic background also includes a Master’s degree in Human Services from Liberty University, a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Delaware, and an Associate degree with a focus in Graphic Design and Fine Arts, also from the University of Delaware.

Dr. Andrus has been part of Wilmington University since 2012, initially serving as an adjunct faculty member and Behavioral Science Adjunct Program Coordinator before her full-time appointment. Her earlier career includes teaching at the elementary and high school levels. In higher education, she previously taught psychology courses at Delaware Technical and Community College and cross-cultural leadership and sociology courses at Urshan University.

She is an active member of both the Association of Applied and Clinical Sociology and the International Society for Emotional Intelligence. Dr. Andrus has delivered a wide range of presentations and webinars on topics such as Emotional Intelligence, Burnout Prevention and Resilience for helping professionals, and Intergenerational Trauma and Resilience.

Beyond her academic work, Dr. Andrus brings more than 20 years of experience as a human services professional in the nonprofit sector, working with diverse populations across a variety of settings. This was the career that grew her understanding of "emotional intelligence" and her desire to advocate for the building of resilience among diverse populations in need. In addition, she has traveled to 20+ countries with various organizations providing support and humanitarian aid.
