Biography

Jacob Andrews, MS. (Jacob.M.Andrews@wilmu.edu) Jacob Andrews is currently an Assistant Professor and Chair of the Criminal Justice Program at Wilmington University. He retired from the New Castle County Police Department after serving for 20 years. During his law enforcement career, Jacob was assigned to the Patrol Division, the Criminal Investigation Unit’s Family Services and Major Crimes Squads, Policy and Accreditation Unit, Public Information Officer, Patrol Lieutenant and retired as the Patrol Executive Officer.

Jacob is a Certified Master Police Instructor. During his time as the Patrol Executive Officer Jacob supervised the Hero Help Program, which provided proactive outreach services for those suffering from addiction and mental illness.

Jacob has been an adjunct instructor at Wilmington University for over 10 years instructing Behavioral Sciences and Criminal Justice classes. He earned a master’s degree in Administration of Justice and a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Wilmington University. Jacob is a veteran of the United States Air Force and a current doctoral student studying Prevention Science.
