Biography

Manubhai (Mike) Karia is an Adjunct Professor and Adjunct Coordinator in the College of Business, teaching master’s level finance and business courses since 1981.

Mike’ s professional experience includes a number of different roles in business and government:  Directorship/Company Officer.  Director and Audit committee member: Since 2008,  Chair of the Audit Committee: 2016 to 2022,  Chair of the Ethics Committee: 2019-2022,    AVATAR Insurance Company LTD, Tampa, Florida. 

Member, State of Delaware Cash Management Board.  Vice Chairman: Investments Sub Committee-2011 to Current, Confirmed by the Senate of the State of Delaware and Appointed by the Governor. 

Member of Delaware Public Service Commission. 2015 to Current, Confirmed by the Senate of the State of Delaware, Appointed by the Governor 

Member of the State of Delaware Clean Water Advisory Committee, Confirmed by the Senate of the State of Delaware, Appointed by the Governor. 1996-2009

President: 2002 to 2009 MK Consulting I, Inc. and Treasurer, 2009 to 2022                                      

City of Dove, Delaware: 1974 to 2000, Finance Director and Treasurer, Reporting to the Mayor and the City Council. 

In addition to his business and public service Mike is a member of Capitol City Rotary Club Member since 1991.  He has served as the Former Director for International Projects, Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Program (HOBY- Delaware) as a Member of the Board of Directors: 2002 – 2009 and Treasurer from 2005-2009.
