Biography
Dr. Joshua Patterson is an accomplished professional with a strong background in academia, research, and the application of artificial intelligence to healthcare research in autoimmunity. His career showcases a blend of teaching experience and cutting-edge research, particularly in the areas of bioinformatics, drug discovery, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry from Delaware State University, where he also worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry. Dr. Patterson's research focuses on leveraging generative AI to innovate healthcare research in autoimmune diseases. He has demonstrated research experience in diverse AI applications, including machine learning, reinforcement learning, recommender systems, graph neural networks (GNNs), knowledge graphs, generative AI models (e.g., LLMs), drug discovery/development, and natural products chemistry. He is passionate about education and discovery and strives to develop AI-fueled methodologies for critical research in Crohn's Disease, Fibromyalgia, and Lupus.
