WilmU Voices: Insights From Our Community

My experience at WilmU has been nothing but positive, and I’ve exponentially grown in an educational and professional manner.

Before I officially transferred to WilmU, seeing the other students from Wilmington University at [a gaming event] so passionate, so friendly, so willing to help me, who was learning for the first time [how to make a game], was delightful. It really helped show me that I was in a good place, and as I went to my classes and started making games myself, I realized I was in the right place.

I am a student who also works full time. Wilmington University is very accommodating. They are very supportive and very understanding.

My instructors were knowledgeable, supportive, and geared learning toward both the working professional and the traditional student. When I graduated, I felt I was well prepared to take on professional challenges. I recommended [WilmU] to many of my colleagues — and they did, and had the same wonderful experience.

WilmU has allowed me to be the best that I can be, and I’ve been able to walk through a lot of doors I don’t think I would have (otherwise). I really feel grateful both for the opportunity and the institution.

The faculty gave me their full support, allowing me to reschedule my finals so I could graduate on time. Going to a school where the instructors and administration truly understand what is happening in the lives of their students made all the difference.

WilmU has been my first choice. The whole process is so smooth. [The Military Affairs Office] drops what they’re doing, and they give you the help that you need, and I love that.

The biggest thing that WilmU has helped with is flexibility. I was initially overseas when I first got into my program. Most of the work is done online, so it is also good for adult learners who are working.

I chose WilmU for its smaller class sizes, more access to the professor (versus an assistant), and the affordability was a huge bonus!

WilmU provides reassurance that, at the end of the day, they want to see you succeed. [All my courses] have been online. My WilmU support system has enabled me to take care of all my responsibilities and further my education in a way that works for me and provides quality education.

I didn't go to college straight from high school. I had my GED. I was nervous, and I can understand when people are afraid to go back. Even if you doubt yourself, you can do it. Wilmington University was very flexible for me. WilmU understood the non-traditional adult learners, and they were very adaptable.

I had recently moved to Delaware, and Wilmington University had a good transfer program. Because of WilmU's accessibility and everything that helped me complete my degree, minors and certificate, I was able to triple the amount of money I make and actually get a career that made me happy.
