NUR 323This course focuses on the development of teaching skills for professional nursing practice. The course will explore the role of the professional nurse in teaching individuals, families, communities, and peers. Students will complete 15 direct care hours working collaboratively with their faculty mentor and identified site healthcare mentor to identify a health education need. Students will develop a comprehensive health-teaching project. The teaching experiences take place in a setting chosen by the student and mentor. The teaching project topic and setting must be approved by faculty. Course faculty provide guidance for both the site selection and teaching experience along with the completion of the final evaluation of the student experience.
