Tips for Successful Transition to Online Learning

Shifting from Face-to-Face to Online Classes? We’re here to Help!

If you’re a student enrolled in classes that have moved from face-to-face to an online format, here are some helpful tips and resources:

  1. Check Your Wilmington University E-mail Regularly:
Log in to MyWilmU or setup your mobile device to check your student email often. If you need more information on checking and using your Wilmington University E-mail, here is a helpful 5-minute video tutorial.
  2. Follow Guidance from Your Instructor:
As our Face-to-Face instructors are shifting courses for online delivery, they’re working to ensure the best continuity and experience for you. Be sure to look for and follow specific guidelines from your instructor. Feel free to contact your instructor directly via your Wilmington University e-mail if you have specific questions about your course.
  3. Online Course Orientation:
Use this interactive resource at your convenience to review the basics of taking a course in our Canvas Learning Management System. Complete the Online Course Orientation at any time, as many times as you need.
  4. Student Success Center:
The Student Success Center is continuing scheduled tutoring sessions online, so you can still get the learning support you need. See Tutoring Schedule for days and time.
  5. Technology Support:
Our Help Desk is fully operational able to assist you by web, email, phone, and chat. The University also has a limited number of laptop computers to loan students without access to computers at home via the University Library, and special procedures in place for students in need to pickup equipment safely.
