Dr. Sherry Scanlon currently serves as Director of the Human Resources and Organizational Management programs for the College of Business at Wilmington University in New Castle, Delaware. In this role, she leads a team of program chairs and faculty for the Organizational Management, Human Resources, and Master of Science in Management program, which she also chairs. 

Dr. Scanlon has over 20 years combined experience leading, managing, administering and developing programs for internal and external employee development; and is a former Director of Education & Training responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing, facilitating and instructing employee training for 500 full-time and 500 seasonal employees.  Coordinated training and certification programs to meet mandatory federal, state, and local regulatory compliance requirements (FDA, FAA, U.S. Coast Guard, etc.).

Dr. Scanlon holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University. Her dissertation research was entitled, “A Comparative Case Study of Developing Leaders Through a Doctoral Program: A Study of One Academic Institution.” She also holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Wilmington University and a Bachelor of Science from Neumann University.

With her husband of 14 years, Mike, they have a blended family of five children, five granddaughters and 1 grandson. They celebrated the birth of their first grandson in January 2017.  Dr. Scanlon is the Owner of SMS Consulting Solutions, LLC with her husband. They provide professional development training focused on leadership, communication, behavior, conflict resolution, team building and more.  In their free time, they enjoy playing tennis and poker.
