Overview of the AI-Supported Teaching Pathway
Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing how we teach, design learning experiences, and prepare students for the evolving workplace. The AI-Supported Teaching Pathway in the Pathways to Instructional Excellence program is supports faculty who wish to revise courses to introduce use of AI thoughtfully and effectively in their teaching. Participants will gain confidence by first exploring foundational AI literacy, followed by application of key concepts in their ethical and responsible use in professional and academic settings.
The pathway also emphasizes critical evaluation, helping faculty assess AI-generated information and consider how AI can support, without replacing, disciplinary expertise and instructional judgment. By developing both practical AI skills and a thoughtful approach to its use, faculty can leverage emerging technologies to create engaging learning experiences, enhance instructional effectiveness, and prepare students to navigate an increasingly AI-enabled world.
