Important Message About Federal Aid Funding

We understand that news of a potential or ongoing federal government shutdown may cause concern about your financial aid, especially your federal student loans and Pell Grant disbursements.

Please note that your federal student aid for Fall 2025 will be disbursed as scheduled. This includes:

• Pell, SEOG, and TEACH grants
• Direct subsidized and unsubsidized loans
• Parent PLUS and Grad PLUS Loans 

These programs are considered essential services, funded through sources that are not affected by short-term shutdowns. Your access to these funds will not be delayed or disrupted. 

The government will also continue to process Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current 2025-26 academic year and the upcoming 2026-27 academic year.

If a shutdown lasts longer, we will provide updates on any potential impact on future aid. But since Wilmington University does not rely on federal grants for its operations, we anticipate a minimal impact, if any, on students and services.
