Wilmington University Welcomes New Public Relations Director
New Castle, Delaware, August 20, 2012 – Christopher Pitcher, Assistant Vice President of Public Relations at Wilmington University, today announced the appointment of Laurie E. Bick to the position of Director of Public Relations for the University.
Laurie's career includes senior communications management positions with three Fortune 500 companies in multiple high technology and science-based industries. She worked for Corning Incorporated in New York and National Starch and Chemical Company in New Jersey prior to relocating to Delaware for DuPont.
A seven-year Delaware resident, Laurie is also known as a business marketing, communications and public relations consultant who is well-versed in both traditional and social media. She has been a speaker and educator to many area businesses and organizations regarding engagement via social networks in conjunction with Network Delaware and the Social Media Club of Delaware.
“I could not be more pleased to work with the talented educators and staff at Wilmington University, Laurie said. “My mission is to use as many of the communications tools available today as possible to expand public awareness of opportunities through Wilmington University’s student-centered educational excellence, convenience and affordability.”
