ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio to Speak at Wilmington University

Discusses research leading to his new book How Football Explains America

Sal Paolantonio, national correspondent for ESPN, will speak at Wilmington University on Friday, March 27 as part of the Business Division’s Sports Management – Sports Talk Series. The event will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Odium room 309 of the Doberstein Admissions Center on Wilmington University’s New Castle Campus. Paolantonio will discuss the research leading to his new book How Football Explains America in this event that is free and open to the public.

As part of the Sports Talk Series, Paolantonio will discuss his new book How Football Explains America, followed by a question and answer session. In the book, Paolantonio contemplates how the game of football became such a powerful and financially successful cultural phenomenon. Taking you on a journey through 100 years of football, Paolantonio explores how the game of football is tied to the story of a nation, the story of America.

Since 1994 Sal Paolantonio has been a national correspondent for ESPN covering the NFL for SportsCenter, Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown. Paolantonio is a contributor to World News Tonight and Good Morning America. An adjunct professor in the English department at St. Joseph’s University Paolantonio has also penned three books: The Paolantonio Report: the Most Overrated and Underrated Players, Coaches, Teams and Moments in NFL History, Frank Rizzo: The Last Big Man in Big City America and his most recent How Football Explains America.
