Wilmington University Hosts Health and Wellness Expo
Event kicks off University-wide Health and Wellness Initiative
New Castle, DE – September 18, 2013 – Wilmington University will host a Health and Wellness Expo at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013, in the Pratt Student Center.
The event will include a raffle drawing for a 90-day membership to Fusion Fitness, massage therapy gift cards, and more.
The expo is the kickoff event of the University’s Health and Wellness Initiative, organized by the Student Life Department and based on guidelines from the Healthy Campus 2020 program.
“Our goal is to create an environment that promotes good health for all that supports academic success, productivity, and positive health behaviors,” said Dr. Regina Allen-Sharpe, Senior Director of Career Services and Student Life. “Therefore, we are offering health and wellness activities/events and recreational opportunities. Also, we have many other resources and tools that will assist students in making healthy decisions.”
The campaign also rolls out a new, WilmU-exclusive logo, “Live Well to Learn Well.” Leaders say it’s all about encouraging students to take charge of their health through education, access, and opportunity.
