Wilmington University’s College of Health Profession’s Dean is Leading the Charge Against Leukemia and Lymphoma!

Help Denise Westbrook raise funds and awareness to combat these awful illnesses.

Wilmington University’s own, Denise Westbrook was recently honored as the first-ever Sussex County resident to be in the running for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Woman of the Year.  This annual campaign is designed to raise as much money and awareness as possible to aid in research efforts in the battle against leukemia and lymphoma.  The LLS identified six men and six women to fund raise for this noble cause.  The man and woman who raise the most capital will be crowned the LLS Man and Woman of the Year.  The campaign, which kicked off on March 26th at the beautiful Barclay’s restaurant in Wilmington, will conclude on June 6th with a well-appointed gala at the Doubletree Hotel in Wilmington, DE.

Denise, who completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2001) and her Master of Science in Nursing Leadership (2003) at Wilmington University, says that she was completely humbled and excited to receive the opportunity to join in this fight against cancer.  She has been working incredibly hard to raise the awareness about these diseases, and her passion and enthusiasm is extremely contagious.  Just speaking with her for a moment reveals that she is committed to doing whatever she can to assist The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, whose mission is to  “Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.”

The Wilmington University Alumni Association is incredible proud of Ms. Westbrook’s work, and we encourage you to join in this endeavor.  Please be sure to check out and follow Denise Westbrook’s Facebook page by CLICKING HERE and consider making a tax-deductible donation to Denise’s campaign by CLICKING HERE

Denise shared “Every dollar donated goes directly to providing hope to cancer patients through research and services.”  This is truly a worthy cause, and Denise’s efforts should be applauded and emulated.  Please consider joining the fight!
