Wilmington University Joins Walmart’s Live Better U College Tuition Program
Wilmington University (WilmU) has been selected to participate in Walmart’s Live Better U education benefit program as part of an expansion announced this week at the retailer’s shareholders meeting in Bentonville, Arkansas. Through the university’s partnership with Guild Education, which works with Walmart to administer the program, WilmU will be one of the select schools offered to Walmart associates pursuing their degrees.
“WilmU is committed to providing flexible, career-oriented online degree programs for working adults and we are thrilled to see them become a part of Live Better U,” said Rachel Carlson, CEO of Guild Education. “We’ve heard quite a bit of feedback from students asking for more options for technology degrees and certificates - an area WilmU excels in.”
As part of the program, WilmU will offer degrees and certificates through its College of Technology, with applications opening summer 2019. Live Better U allows Walmart associates to pay just a $1 per day for tuition, books and fees, with the company covering the remaining cost. More than a million Walmart associates are eligible for the Live Better U program.
“We are excited to work with Wilmington University to offer college degrees to thousands of our associates for $1 a day,” said Ellie Bertani, senior director of Learning Strategy & Innovation at Walmart. “Wilmington has a strong record with adult learners and also adds critically important technology degrees and certificates to our Live Better U program.”
