Sport media is a multidisciplinary field combining working knowledge of sport management with knowledge of traditional and new media outlets for presenting sports news, information, and entertainment. Professionals working in the industry publicize sports news and entertainment events using traditional media including television and radio and digital media such as in-house websites, social platforms, and blogs. As such, job candidates possessing the requisite sport management knowledge and digital media creation expertise are ideally placed for opportunities in this industry.
The Sport Media Certificate will teach students how to effectively create and communicate with digital media in the context of sport and entertainment. Students will have the opportunity to enhance their education using the Sport Media Certificate courses through electives as an added value to completing a Bachelor's degree in Sport Management, Marketing, Photography, Web Design or Graphic Design. The certificate is also appropriate separately for those who already work within the sports or digital media field and would like to advance their careers in to sport media.
