Certificate Admission

WilmU’s Dual-Credit Certificate® programs help you earn college credit while fine-tuning your resumé. There are several different types of certificate programs. Review the requirements and instructions below.

Admission Requirements for Undergraduate-Level Certificate Programs

All undergraduate-level certificate programs require a completed Undergraduate Application with $35 application fee.

Students currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program do not need to submit an additional application. Contact your Academic Advisor to discuss adding a certificate to your program.

Undergraduate Dual-Credit Certificates

Requirement: Official High School Transcript or its equivalent

Post-Bachelor’s Certificates

Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in progress at WilmU and/or Official Bachelor’s Degree Transcript conferred from an accredited institution

SAT and ACT scores are not required.

An application essay is not required

If you have previously taken undergraduate courses at another accredited institution, prerequisite courses may be waived. Please submit your transcripts as soon as possible so this can be determined.

Speak to an Admissions Specialist to discuss whether your certificate program contains courses with prerequisites

Up to 6 applicable credits from an accredited institution may be transferred into your undergraduate certificate program. Contact your previous institutions to have your official transcripts sent to us for a transfer credit evaluation. See our Undergraduate Admission Policy for more details on transferring credits into a certificate program.


Admission Requirements for Graduate-Level Certificate Programs

All graduate-level certificate programs require a completed Graduate Application with $35 application fee.

Students currently enrolled in a graduate degree program do not need to submit an additional application. Contact your Program Chair to discuss adding a certificate to your program.

Graduate Dual-Credit Certificates

Requirement: Official bachelor’s degree transcript conferred from an accredited institution or master’s degree in progress at WilmU

Post-BSN Certificates

Requirement: Official Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree transcript conferred from an accredited institution

Post-MSN Certificates

Requirement: Official Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree transcript conferred from an accredited institution

Post-Master Certificates

Requirement: Official master’s degree transcript conferred from an accredited institution

Certificate of Advanced Study

Requirement: Official master’s degree transcript conferred from an accredited institution

GRE, GMAT, or similar test scores are not required.

Contact an Admissions Specialist to schedule a Program Planning Conference with your Program Chair to discuss whether your certificate program contains courses with prerequisites.

Submit your official transcripts

If you’d like to use applicable college credits you’ve already earned toward your certificate program, contact all of your previously attended institutions to have your official transcripts sent to us:

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The FAFSA should only be submitted if you are interested in receiving federal financial aid AND if your certificate program is financial aid-eligible. Use our Federal School Code 007948.

Log in to myWilmU

Your myWilmU login credentials will be sent to you once you’ve been accepted. myWilmU is our online hub that allows you to:

  • Update your personal information.
  • View your program’s course requirements in DegreeWorks.
  • Register for courses.
  • View financial aid requirements and status.
  • Select your payment plan in the Payment Center.
  • Buy your books.

Get your WilmU ID card

An ID card is needed only if you’re taking classes on-site at one of our locations.
