Biography

Aaron M. Sebach, PhD, DNP, MBA, AGACNP-BC, FNP-BC, NP-C, CP-C, CEN, CPEN, NREMT, CGNC, CLNC, CNE, CNEcl, SFHM, FNAP, FAANP is Chief Nurse Administrator and Dean of the College of Health Professions and Natural Sciences. Prior to his appointment as Dean in 2022, Dr. Sebach served as Director of Graduate Nursing Programs and Doctor of Nursing Practice Program Chair.

Dr. Sebach earned a BS in Nursing, MS in Nursing Education, Post-Masters Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Salisbury University. He earned a Post-Masters Certificate as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Saint Louis University, a Post-Master’s Certificate in Public Health Leadership from Wilmington University, and a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration from Columbia Southern University.

In 2019, Dr. Sebach earned a second doctorate, a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is nationally board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC, NP-C), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN), Certified Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC), Certified Community Paramedic (CP-C), Certified Global Nurse Consultant (CGNC), Certified Nurse Educator (CNE), and Certified Academic Clinical Nurse Educator (CNEcl). He is a graduate of the prestigious National League for Nursing Leadership Institute and a member of the Editorial Board for Nursing Education Perspectives, the research journal for the National League for Nursing.

Dr. Sebach’s research interests include advanced practice nursing, preoperative medicine, hospitalist medicine, nursing education, nurse educator competence and skill acquisition, and doctoral nursing preparation. He is a subject matter expert for the American Nurses Credentialing Center for both the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner specialties.

He maintains an active clinical practice as a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner and Mobile Integrated Health Nurse Practitioner at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional. In 2020, he was conferred as a Senior Fellow of Hospital Medicine (SFHM) by the Society of Hospital Medicine. In 2023, Dr. Sebach was named a Distinguished Practitioner and Fellow of the National Academy of Practice (FNAP) and a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP).

Dr. Sebach is a member of the American Nurses Association, National League for Nursing, Eastern Nursing Research Society, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, National Academies of Practice, Society of Hospital Medicine, Emergency Nurses Association, National Association of Mobile Integrated Health Providers, and Sigma Theta Tau International. He regularly publishes in peer-reviewed journals and presents at national and international conferences related to his work as a Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Educator. Finally, Dr. Sebach serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal for Nurse Practitioners, International Journal of Doctoral Studies, Journal of Professional Nursing, Journal of Doctoral Nursing Practice, Journal of Nursing Education, and the Journal of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
