Coronavirus Information and Tuition Assistance Update
Wilmington University has moved all courses online for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters in response to the the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. For GI Bill students, this change in modality may raise questions and concerns about the impact to their GI Bill benefits and importantly, housing allowances. Wilmington University has been approved by the State Approving Agency to offer delivery through an online modality, therefore benefit/tuition payments (including the Monthly Housing Allowance under the Post-9/11 GI Bill) should remain unchanged.
The US Department of Veterans Affairs have extended the rules regarding Post 9/11 GI Bill students who pursue resident courses converted to an online modality solely due to COVID. The special COVID rules have been extended to December 21, 2021. Among other things, Post 9/11 GI Bill students 19 will continue to receive the MHA rate for resident training. The VA will provide more information soon via their COVID-19 FAQ webpage.
