Biography

Kathryn Leach, DNP, CPNP-PC, is the Chair of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program and Assistant Professor. . She completed her Associate and Bachelor of Science Degrees in Nursing at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. Katie received her Master of Science in Nursing at The Catholic University of America and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Wilmington University. 

In addition to her role at Wilmington University, Katie is pediatric nurse practitioner at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Complex Care and the Compass Care program where she specializes in care coordination for children with complex medical needs. She has over 15 years of pediatric nursing experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Katie completed her DNP project looking at the use of telemedicine in medically complex children for care coordination. Her interests include children with medical complexity, care coordination, telehealth, evidence-based practice and nursing curriculum. Katie is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, and National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
